You are invited to learn more about Eastern Bluebirds and why they are so special and the importance of providing them with a lovely House, which you'll be installing that day in the Preserve.
Al Nuti, Chikaming's Bird House builder, will help you build a Bluebird House. There will also be two Bluebird experts on hand to talk about these lovely birds. They are from the Michigan Bluebird Society; Gail Chapman, Newsletter Director, and John Harville, Berrien County Coordinator and Membership Director, will be there to educate you on these beautiful birds and the importance of providing safe and clean houses to nest in. You'll learn first hand how to construct the house which will be attached to the respective post around the Park. All tools and supplies will be provided for you to work along side Al Nuti. No cost to participate other than your enthusiasm and interest in knowing more about Bluebirds.
Accessibility: It could be muddy and wet in certain areas so we recommend boots
Walking distance: to the Pavilion where we'll make the houses is about 1/4 mile. For those who want to install the houses, we will walk some of the trails which may amount to about a 1 mile walk. We will also encourage others to experience and explore other trails throughout the preserve.
