30th Annual Cranefest | |||||||

|||||||
Don't miss CraneFest XXX presented by the Kiwanis Club of Battle Creek. The festival is held at the Kiwanis Youth Conservation Area in Bellevue, overlooking Big Marsh Lake. As dusk approaches, be in the viewing areas on the lakeshore and witness thousands of migrating Sandhill Cranes gather and then touch down into Big Marsh Lake. The festival coincides with the annual fall migration of thousands of Sandhill Cranes. Each evening in October, just before dusk, these majestic cranes leave their favorite feeding fields and head to Big Marsh Lake. Visitors come from all over Michigan and beyond to witness this breathtaking migration. CraneFest has truly become one of Michigan’s gala artistic and environmental events. The festival runs from noon to dusk both days. Activities will include bird viewing areas, vendors and non-profit displays, hiking trails and guided walks, an artist village, animal encounters, a children's activity tent and food trucks. The Michigan Bluebird Society will be there to answer your bluebird questions. They will also be selling nest boxes and poles. There is a pavilion and restrooms but come prepared for the changing Michigan weather. Admission is $10 per vehicle or $1 per person for buses. Directions
