How to Attract Bluebirds and Manage Nestboxes

The Audubron Society of Kalamazoo invites you to a FREE bluebird program on November 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The meeting will be held at People's Church, 58 10th Street N, Kalamazoo, MI. A 45-minute PowerPoint presentation will showcase this well-loved native songbird and include stunning photos, species background, and useful management pointers. Penny Briscoe, better known for her work with Purple Martins, will provide an educational and entertaining presentation about Eastern Bluebirds with lots of photos of Michigan bluebirds, as well as Mountain and Western Bluebirds that we do not get to see in Michigan. The presentation will include details about nest boxes, nest predators, and about bluebirds themselves and includes some fun video clips. Penny will also bring along a couple of bluebird houses of different styles and talk about predator guards and why they are important. No pre-registration is required.

If you would like someone to do an interesting program on bluebirds for your group,contact MBS to schedule a day and time. We can do talks to nature groups, civic organizations, schools, gardenclubs, etc. in most areas of the state. Go to our Contact Us page, and send a message to the Coordinator for your county. If there is not one for your county, contact Kurt Hagemeister, MBS President.
